Chicago home sales down 11 percent in March


(MENAFN) Existing single-family home sales in the Chicago area dropped for the third month running in March, Xinhua reported. The Illinois Association of Realtors said that 7,177 homes were sold in the Chicago area last month, dropping 11.1 percent from the amount sold in the same month a year earlier. The trade association said that the median price in the area hit USD175,000, up 12.9 percent from March 2013. Home sales in the city of Chicago dropped 6.5 percent to 1,819 sales, down from 1,945 sales in the corresponding month a year earlier.
