(MENAFN) Net profit of the fast-food chain McDonald"s saw a 5.2 percent fall in the first quarter of the current year on lower sales in its key US home market, according to Arab News.
McDonald"s profit was estimated at USD1.20 billion for the first quarter compared to USD1.27 billion in the same quarter 2013.
Its revenue was lower than expected, reaching USD6.70 billion, though it boosted by 1.4 percent during the period.
McDonald"s said the weakness in sales came "amid challenging industry dynamics and severe winter weather."
