Kowait- New hospital to be ready by 2014 end


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwait city jan 14 (kuna): director of the 'mega projects 3' group at kuwait oil company (koc) yaqoub dashti said on tuesday that the new ahmadi hospital would be ready to receive patients by the end of the year with a capacity of 300 beds at a cost of about 87 million dinars (kd). (one kd is equivalent to $3.539). dashti said at a news conference to announce the details of the project that nearly 64 percent of the project has been completed adding that the hospital will serve about 120000 patients registered in the oil sector their families and retirees.

he said the new hospital project which includes 300 beds equipped with the latest international medical specifications in addition to the provision of secondary health care can also be extended to accommodate nearly 400 beds. he explained that the project site area stands at nearly 380000 square meters while medical and nonmedical buildings stand at 80000 square meters and includes a fourstorey in addition to a parking site that can accommodate nearly 1000 vehicles a helicopter landing area and residential buildings for medical staff with a capacity of 254 units. he said the cost of the projects executed by the group stand at nearly kd 3 billion.
