Huge quantity of food seized


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwait city april 14 (agencies): kuwait municipality announced sunday seizure of large quantities of food items during a campaign against make-shift stalls in hawally governorate because they were not meeting health safety standards. a municipality team confiscated four trucks loaded with vegetables fruits boxes of lupines 39 boxes of sparkling water pickles truffles 290 cartons of nuts 384 packs of candy and 2900 cds director of road words at hawally's municipality khaled al-azmi said in a press statement.

these food items are not meeting health safety standards thus cannot be consumed by humans he said. he said sellers of make-shift stalls were posing a threat on safety of human beings because their products lacked the minimum health safety standards. the sellers added al-azmi were also disrupting traffic in residential areas. he called on consumers not to buy from those sellers because they did not have the necessary health certificates.
