(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Oman Visitors Portal is organising a photo competition - Let's Discover Oman - to encourage residents and citizens to popularise tourist sites in the country.
A press release stated that the aim of the competition is to promote the country through popular social media channels like Twitter and Facebook. ‘The ‘Let's Discover Oman' contest allows participants to submit entries on popular tourist sites. Winners will get a one-night stay in a five-star hotel in Muscat and their entries will be uploaded on the portal's social media channels,' the release stated.
Badar Mohammed al Azri, team leader of the Oman Visitors Portal was quoted in the release as saying, ''We want people to showcase their work and promote themselves and Oman. The portal is an online guide for visitors and residents, and we want more and more people to visit the site.''
Azri added, ''Our Facebook page is available in five languages while our YouTube channel has more than 400 videos to promote the sultanate. Also, there are more than 400 images about Oman which have been uploaded on Instagram. We believe that this initiative will support our digital media strategy to connect with more number of people.''
