Iran's Foreign Minister Wraps Up Visit to Russia


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) scow April 23 - Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif wrapped up his two-day to Russia where he attended a foreign ministerial meeting of the Caspian Sea littoral states. Zarif also has bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Caspian Sea littoral states including Russia Kazakhstan Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan according to Iran's News Agency (IRNA). Addressing the ministerial meeting on Tuesday Zarif said that the legal regime of the Caspian Sea must ensure sustainable peace and stability in the region. "The legal regime of the Caspian Sea will be determined in a way that will meet the expectations and needs of the people of [its] littoral states including the current and future generations" Zarif said. Zarif emphasized that sustainable peace in the Caspian Sea region would lead to economic development and prosperity for its people. Iran Russia Kazakhstan the Republic of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan are the littoral states of the Caspian Sea.
