KD 15m fees fines collected 'online'


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Manama april 22 (kuna): up to kd 15 million worth of fees and fines were collected as a result of finalizing bureaucratic work via kuwait's e-government website last year said a kuwaiti official here. director general of the central agency for information technology center abdul latif al-suraya told kuna on tuesday said this amount of paid money also covered various paper work for individuals and institutions.

number of government services provided online has increased to more than 800 in addition to 200 others available on smart phones al-suraya added. number of citizens who used the site reached 900000 in the first quarter of this year al-suraya said affirming that the service resulted in speeding up government bureaucratic and paper works. the recently-issued electronic operations law has preserved rights of those who do the tasks online increased citizens' confidence in the advanced service in addition to linking up 50 government departments through the network.
