Geneva Agreement On Ukraine Should Be Respected By All Sides Says EU


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) ussels April 22 - The European Union (EU) has called on all sides to respect the terms and conditions of last week's Geneva agreement to resolve the Ukraine crisis after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov yesterday accused the Ukrainian authorities of breaking the accord. "We recall the importance of all parties to show good faith. We call on all sides to implement what was written in the Geneva agreement. It was a very good agreement" Michael Mann spokesman for EU High Representative Catherine Ashton told a news conference here Tuesday . The EU spokesman said the process to expand sanctions against Russia is still under way adding that "sanctions depends on what happens on the ground in Ukraine. Lavrov said on Monday that the authorities in Kiev have not disarmed illegal groups in particular the extremist Right Sector group. For its part Kiev blamed Russia for creating instability in Eastern Ukraine. .
