Chinese Shandong purchases 50 (737) planes


(MENAFN) Reports said that China's Shandong Airlines is planning to buy 50 new 737 aircrafts worth USD4.6 billion from Boeing Company, QNA reported. According to the contract signed by the two companies, Boeing would deliver 16 Boeing 737-800s and 34 Boeing 737 MAX aircrafts to Shandong Airline between 2016 and 2020. The carrier already operates 74 passenger aircraft, including 67 Boeing 737 planes. With the 737 record of being the first commercial airplane in history to reach this delivery milestone, Boeing's 737 program has a strong backlog with more than 3,700 airplanes on order, including 1,934 orders for the new 737 MAX.
