Vietnamese pepper exports to score USD1bn in 2014


(MENAFN) Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center (VITIC) said that pepper exports' profit in the country is expected to hit USD1 billion this year, Xinhua reported. In the first three months of 2014, Vietnam's revenue of pepper exports scored USD336.21 million, with 49,500 tons exported, increasing 30.9 percent in volume and 32.57 percent in value. Vietnam Pepper Association said that the country has a great influence on the spice market prices, as it accounts 30 percent of annual global pepper output and 50 percent of pepper export volume in world market. The association added that pepper prices are expected to stay high for the next few months.
