Imported car sales in Philippine rose 5.3 pct


(MENAFN) Local Filipinos distributor said that the total imported cars sold in the country increased by 5.3 percent in one year, reaching 3,189 in March, Xinhua reported. Sales of light commercial vehicles helped boost the performance of distributors in March, a report by The Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors, Inc. (AVID) said. AVID said that sales of light commercial vehicles increased by almost 13 percent, hitting 1,621 units during last month, while passenger car sales scored 1,568 sold units compared to 1,592 units sold in the same period of 2013. In the first quarter of 2014, sales of imported cars increased by 13 percent compared to a year earlier, reaching 9,055 units, including 4,497 units of light commercial vehicles and 4,558 units of passenger cars.
