Qatari Driver Leads Sealine Desert Challenge


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) ha April 21 - Qatari driver Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah led Monday the first part of the Sealine Desert Challenge which is 164.18 Km long. Al Attiyah began the race in fourth place but kept on impressing as the race went on finishing the first stage in an impressive 34:57 minutes. Al Attiyah described the first stage as smooth-running. The Sealine Desert Challenge racers from 18 countries including FIA World Cup leader Vladimir Vasilyev compete. The race includes a car and motorbike racing competition. The challenge is the third round of the 2013 FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies. World Cup leader Vasilyev is currently in third place some 10 minutes behind Al Attiyah. Some 22 cars participated in the first stage which kicked off today. The challenge will conclude Friday on April 26.
