KSA to invest USD109bn in solar energy


(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia is planning to invest a total of USD109 billion in order to produce 41 gigawatts (GW) of solar energy in the next two decades, which equals around 30 percent of its energy needs by then, Saudi Gazette reported. The government plans to build photovoltaic cells (PV cells) energy generation projects, with a 16 GW capacity. Moreover, it will establish 26GW-capacity projects that make use of energy concentrate. Organizers of the Saudi Energy 2014 event said that those projects aim to increase the country's potentials in order to become the world's largest solar energy producer.
