40 Taliban Militants Killed or Injured in Afghan Operations


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) bul April 21 - At least 40 Taliban militants were killed or injured following military operations by Afghan national security forces in the past 24 hours interior ministry officials said Monday. According to a statement released by interior ministry the militants were killed or injured during operations conducted in Samangan Faryab Zabul Uruzgan Logar and Helmand provinces. The statement further added that the Afghan national police (ANP) forces conducted the operations in cooperation with the Afghan national army (ANA) forces and Afghan intelligence-national directorate of security (NDS) operatives. Interior ministry said at least 29 militants were killed 11 militants were injured and three others were detained during the operations according to the Afghan (Khaama Press). Afghan security forces also discovered and confiscated various types of weapons ammunition and explosives during the operations. The statement by interior ministry also added that the Afghan national police (ANP) forces confiscated 12 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during operations in Kunar Baghlan Faryab Kandahar Maidan WArdak Khost and Paktika provinces.
