former military ruler gen. pervez musharraf who flew into karachi on saturday night ostensibly for treatment at pakistan navy’s shifa hospital may not leave his residence in the defence housing authority (dha) but undergo tests and treatment at home where he was lodged on arrival.
officials said due to security threats a three-member medical team will examine his health at his residence in karachi’s zamzama neighbourhood.
media reports described musharraf’s general health as good. if necessary he may undergo angiography.
on april 19 the former strongman landed in karachi via a chartered private jet from islamabad for the first time after his indictment on sedition charge. amid tight security musharraf was driven away in a convoy of 18 armoured vehicles including two mobile jammer vehicles and an ambulance to his residence in general’s colony in dha.
musharraf was previously supposed to be treated at pns shifa karachi where stringent security measures had been put in place.
