(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Two men were charged in the court of first instance with raping and sexually assaulting a french woman after she got drunk.
while s.a. a 34-year-old emirati is accused of raping the woman his compatriot accomplice a.a. 23 is accused of sexually assaulting the victim.
according to prosecution records the incident happened on july 5 last year in the villa of the defendants’ friend in jumeirah village.
the victim a 19-year-old woman told the investigators that she met the accused at a night club in jumeirah beach residence (jbr). she accompanied them to continue partying at their friend’s villa. “i became unconscious and woke up to find myself at the hospital. i knew i was sexually and physically assaulted. there were scratches on my neck and bruises on my arms and thighs and other parts of my body.”
the woman learnt from a forensic expert that she lost her virginity.
a police corporal who was out jogging on the day of the incident found the woman lying on her side at the entrance of an under-construction site near his residence. “i tried to talk to her but she was unconscious. i went home and called the police. i came back with my wife to cover her as she was naked from below the waist” he said in the investigation.
a police lieutenant said a.a. admitted that they had sex with the woman with her consent. a.a. said the complainant destroyed the furniture inside the lower hall of the villa while dancing without clothes in a drunk state. he said they made her put her clothes on and took her out of the villa. they left her in al barsha where she was found later.
the forensic report of the general department of criminal evidence showed that the victim lost her virginity in the alleged rape.
her body did not contain any toxics as per the report. the semen traces found on the victim matched with that of s.a.’s. the victim identified the defendants in a queue of suspects at bur dubai police station.
