GCC condemns Iraqi PM's repeated accusations on Saudi Arabia

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) GCC Secretary General Abdullateef Al-Zayani condemned on Sunday repeated allegations by Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki against Saudi Arabia, which he described as "irresponsible," contradict with political and diplomatic norms. Al-Zayani expressed, in a statement, his rejection of Al-Maliki's accusations that Saudi Arabia was interfering in Iraq's affairs, including constant accusations to other GCC countries. The GCC chief noted that such accusations come to cover up Al-Maliki's failure to address domestic problems and dealing with political powers inside his country. Al-Zayani affirmed that the GCC wishes to see security and stability restored in Iraq. The secretary general also expressed hopes that Al-Maliki would adopt policies contributing to restorting Iraq's stability, promoting development and reinforcing national unity, for the sake of Iraqi people.
