(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) As many as 37 Labour Law violators have been arrested in the wilayat of Nizwa from Dakhliyah governorate. A Ministry of Manpower team in cooperation with Nizwa police station made the arrests.

A press release stated that those arrested include 20 retrenched workers, ten absconding workers and seven who didn't have valid work documents. Nasir al Falahi, deputy director of inspection teams at the Directorate General of Manpower in Dakhliyah was quoted in the release as saying, ''The directorate is exerting all efforts to regulate the job market in the country. Our officials visit establishments in the governorate on a regular basis to check documents of expatriate workers.''

He said that punishments include fines, deportation of the worker and barring the company or facility from recruiting expatriates for one year.
