Liverpool Close in on Title with Narrow Win


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) ndon April 20 - Liverpool continued their march towards their first ever Premier League title after edging Norwich 3-2 on Sunday. Liverpool wonderkid Raheem Sterling opened the scoring with an absolute screamer in the fourth minute. Six minutes later the scorer turned provider setting up Luis Suarez for Liverpool's second. Howson pulled one back for Norwich as the Canaries looked set to stage a comeback. However player of the match Raheem Sterling had other thoughts in mind as he darted from his own half going past three players before putting the ball into the back of the net. Norwich however wouldn't give up and equalized in the 77th minute. Liverpool had enough resolve however to hold on and win the match. Liverpool now 80 points five more than Chelsea with three more matches to play. The two teams will meet on April 27 however which means the title race is far from over. Liverpool have won the league title 18 time but never in the Premier League era which started in 1990.
