15 Taliban Militants Killed in Afghan Operations


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) bul April 20 - At least 15 Taliban militants were killed during military operations by Afghan national security forces in the past 24 hours interior ministry said Sunday. The operations were conducted by Afghan national police in cooperation with the Afghan national army forces and Afghan intelligence-National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives according to the Afghan (Khaama Press). Interior ministry following a statement said at least 1 militant was also injured and 10 others were arrested during the operations conducted in Kunduz Faryab Parwan Balkh Kandahar Zabul Logar Farah and Helmand provinces. The statement further added that the Afghan national security forces confiscated various types of weapons and explosives during the operations. Afghan national police forces also discovered and seized 9 improvised explosive device (IED) along with 5 artillery rounds during operations in Nahr-e-Saraj district of Helmand province the statement by interior ministry added. Interior ministry said the anti-government armed militants were looking launch terrorist attacks by using the IEDs and artillery rounds.
