(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS) recently held an Open Day event under the patronage of Sulayem Bin Ali al Hikmani, chairman of economic and finance committee, Majlis A'Shura.
This year and after six years of conducting the open day it came with a special cultural theme called Bridging Culture', with the aim of highlighting the talents and hobbies of students in various fields within an annual fun filled atmosphere. The theme of this year Open Day was based on merging various cultures within the college healthy environment, in order to enhance the cultural and social aspects among students in various areas of interest in their life, and to represent different cultures and values.
The open day event included many academic and social/art activities including folklore dance and music, Omani, Palestinian, Indian and others, cultural village, job fair , poetry, charity organisations, quizzes, food and other entertainment, the prominent event was the cultural village including Oman, India, South Africa ,Palestinian ,UK and Bangladesh. In addition, the charity markets (souk) selling Omani products made by local small and medium enterprises.
The college also organised workshops and competitions on photography and documentary films. Dean Dr Ahmed Mohsin al Ghassani said that CBFS worked hard towards the development of Omani citizens by offering professional and academic programs to meet the requirement of labor market in the financial and business sectors without neglecting the social and cultural activities that build up the students' personalities.
The ceremony ended by honouring the sponsors of the event for their participation in the success of this event, and will be allocated another day to honor the participants from the students and staff.
