(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) With the holiday season approaching, Bank Sohar announced the launch of a new value added service and a promotion for its Excel Credit Cards holders at a press conference held on Thursday at Crowne Plaza Muscat. 

The conference also played a host to representatives from various reputed travel agencies within the country in order to educate them on the exclusive offers. The new service titled Travel Now, Pay Later' allows Bank Sohar Excel Credit Card customers to avail the convenience of paying for flight tickets, accommodation and any other travel related expenses from any merchant over a 12 month instalment period, interest free and without any additional fees.

Whereas the promotion titled Shop & Win' offers Bank Sohar Excel Credit Card customers a chance to enter monthly draws to win great prizes that include electronic gadgets and devices on any purchases of RO50 or more either through Point of Sale (POS) or through the Internet. The exclusive Shop & Win' promotion and the unique Travel Now, Pay Later' service are both available to customers till June 30.

Highlighting on the newly introduced promotion and service, R Narasimhan, DGM & head of retail banking, Bank Sohar, said, ''The holiday season is soon to approach us and we at Bank Sohar understand the stresses and expenses involved when planning a holiday; whether for an individual or the entire family. This is why we have tailored a special promotion and a distinctive service that complement each other and provide a financial solution by easing the expense burden whilst providing an incentive as well to reward the customer.''

Travel Now, Pay Later' and Shop & Win' highlight the convenience of using Bank Sohar credit cards when purchasing travel related arrangements providing them with an easy payment mechanism as well as rewarding customers respectively. The Travel Now, Pay Later' service is applicable for travel bookings, accommodation, transportation, car rentals and any other travel related expenses made through point of sale (POS) or via online bookings, with a value of RO500 or above. Once the booking has been made, customers have the choice of paying back the amount in equal monthly instalments over 12 months, with the advantage of zero per cent interest over the payment period.

Any customer using Bank Sohar Classic, Gold, Platinum, Internet or Infinite Credit Cards can avail this service by following a simple registration formality with the bank's call centre after the purchase has been made. This offer is valid for one transaction per customer, per instalment period. On the launch of Travel Now, Pay Later' service, Shankar Bose, general manager, Bahwan Travel Agencies, who was present at the event, said, ''This is quite an attractive offer for anyone banking with Bank Sohar and looking to make travel plans.

It will allow them to pay for their dream holiday with ease over a period of an entire year without having to worry about any excess payments or interest. Bank Sohar has also picked the most opportune time to launch this offer, as we are fast approaching the holiday season.''

With Shop & Win' promotion, Bank Sohar is introducing a rewarding way to shop using any of its Classic, Gold, Platinum, Internet or Infinite credit cards.
