(MENAFN - Arab News) The saudi exhibition and convention bureau (secb) has given warnings to nine event organizing companies in the kingdom for committing a number of violations.
tariq abdul rahman al eisa executive director of secb said 'the warnings were issued to the companies because they have committed different violations while executing a number of trade and consumer exhibitions in riyadh alkhobar taif jeddah and their municipalities.
'the companies have pledged not to commit such violations in the future" he added.
al eisa further informed that the inspectors of the ministry of commerce and industry in collaboration with the secb had detected the violations.
the violations in the trade exhibitions include cases of direct sales to the public in addition to the participation of exhibitors who were not specialized in the activity besides the showing and marketing of real estate offers from outside the kingdom he pointed out.
violations of consumer exhibitions include selling foods with a short shelf-life participation of exhibitors without sites in the same municipality or province where the exhibition was being held and displaying or selling imitation goods eisa informed.
al eisa added that such measures will contribute to the development of the convention and exhibition sector which is consistent with the social conditions and shariah laws in the kingdom. he also called on the investors to collaborate with the secb for achieving these goals.
the secb is keen on the rules and regulations governing the organization and holding of exhibitions and conventions in collaboration with the ministry of commerce and industry regarding consumer protection and commercial fraud.
