Abu Dhabi to Host High Level Meeting on Climate Change


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) u Dhabi April 19 - Abu Dhabi on May 4-5 will host in collaboration with the United Nations a high level meeting to encourage cooperation between public and private sectors to support the efforts for facing the global climate change phenomenon. Elite group of world leaders will meet in preparation for the climate change summit to be held in New York on 23 September in order to encourage ideas and effective proposals to reduce the impact of climate change. The high-level ministerial meeting was officially announced last February by the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon and Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al- Jaber Minister of State of the UAE the Special Envoy for Energy and Climate Change. The high-level ministerial meeting is key point in the ongoing preparations for the holding of the 2014 climate summit which will bring together a group of government officials and high-level leaders from the private sector and civil society.
