(MENAFN - Arab News) The ministry of education has acquitted several employees of charges of corruption and favoritism in the hiring process.
investigations lasted for 54 days after the ministry had been accused of corruption on a television program on mbc.
the committee which comprised a legal adviser inspectors educators and female follow-up officials at the ministry also recommended holding the three teachers who participated in the program accountable in accordance with article 32 of the employees' disciplinary system.
the committee recommended filing a lawsuit against mbc1 and the program's presenter dawood al-shiryan and producers because of their accusations against the ministry. the committee sent a letter of appreciation to the ministry's general secretariat for school affairs which had been accused of these crimes.
>sources said teachers who accused the ministry of corruption will be issued warnings and suffer salary deductions. they will also be asked to write an official letter of apology for their accusations which were found inaccurate by members of the committee.
this is the first public case against a television channel. sources said that teachers who appeare in television channels violate the ministry's regulations.
education minister prince khaled al-faisal had ordered the formation of a committee to investigate these accusations at the time they surfaced. the committee had then confirmed that the accusations were inaccurate.
prince khaled had pledged to maintain the rights of the ministry's employees and respect according to values rules and regulations and vowed to take legal action against the tv channel and program presenter.
