Doha International Conference on Family Concludes


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) ha April 17 - The Doha International Conference on the Family concluded here today and called for developing comprehensive policies and a coherent and integrated perspective to support family stability. The two-day conference with participation of a group of professionals researchers academics policy makers and representatives of a number of non-governmental organizations and stakeholders have focused their discussions on ways to empower the family and the importance of re-considering the various challenges faced by families around the world . They also highlighted the role of effective national policies for the family in the promotion of well-being. The participants in the recommendations outlined in the Doha call urged promotion of gender equality women's empowerment reform of existing laws and policies on discrimination especially family laws and enact legislation to end child marriage and violence against women. The conference was organized by the Doha International Family Institute to deal with the significance and vitality of families for healthy societies.
