Tunisia's National Dialogue Conference Resumes


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) nis April 17 - Tunisia's national dialogue conference resumed on Thursday following a two-month hiatus in the presence of chairmen of sponsor organizations. Tunisian League of Human Rights (LTDH) President Abdel Sattar Ben Moussa said the agenda of the first session will discuss the reasons for the delay in drafting the country's electoral law and possible consensual solutions to overcome complications involving it. The national dialogue conference which kicked off in October with participation of 21 political parties has resulted in the agreement to appoint current Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa to lead the cabinet during the remainder of the transitional period until elections are held. The conference also assisted the Constituent Assembly to finish the drafting of the constitution and establish a supreme independent electoral commission.
