KAHRAMAA Signs Agreement with GCCIA


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) ha April 17 - President of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) Eng. Essa bin Hilal AL-Kuwari and the General Manager of the GCC Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) Adnan Al-Mohaisen signed an agreement for interconnection between two substations for GCCIA and KAHRAMAA. KAHRAMAA said in a press release today that the agreement was signed on the sidelines of the GCCIA 13th meeting which was held in Doha on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by GCCIA Chairman Eng. Khalid Al-Jassar Electricity and Water Undersecretary Kuwait and attended by representatives of member states and Eng. Adnan Al-Mohaisen. The meeting discussed various issues on the agenda related to the interconnection among member states. According to the alphabetical order UAE will chair GCCIA board for the coming three year term. Since inception in 2009 GCCIA managed to increase the reliability of GCC grids by providing support at emergencies. GCCIA is working to establish GCC power trade market.
