Iran's FM Hails Promotion of Iran-Turkey Ties


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) hran April 17 - Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Thursday said promotion of Iran-Turkey ties would benefit both capitals and the entire region. Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Turkish Minister for Development Cevdet Y?lmaz who is here to attend the 24th meeting of Iran-Turkey Joint Economic Commission Iran's News Agency (IRNA) reported. He stressed the need for further expansion of Tehran-Ankara ties as two Muslim neighboring states. Tehran would spare no effort to help promote bilateral ties with Ankara through strengthening of cooperation at major regional bodies such as Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) and the D-8 said the Iranian minister. Meanwhile the Turkish official said he had constructive discussions during the three-day meeting of Iran-Turkey joint Economic Commission in Tehran. Y?lmaz expressed hope that officials of the two countries would facilitate implementation of bilateral agreements.
