3 Killed 13 Wounded in Ukrainian Military Base Shooting


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) ev April 17 - Three people were killed and 13 others were wounded in a shooting near a military base in the Ukrainian southeastern city of Mariupol. The Ukrainian National Guard announced today that the accident occurred when a group of insurgents stormed the base late Wednesday in Donetsk province. Ukraine's Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said Thursday that three protesters were killed 13 more were wounded and 63 were arrested in a confrontation at a military base in the east of the country. For his part Commander of the People's Army in the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" Igor Kakidzyanov who are currently in Mariupol denied the attack on the Ukrainian military unit saying that the demonstrators approached the military unit to negotiate but the soldiers opened fire at them.
