Saudi- King orders treatment of Rawda abroad

(MENAFN - Arab News) Custodian of the two holy mosques king abdullah has sponsored the treatment of a saudi girl suffering from a mystery disease that claimed the lives of her five siblings.

king abdullah issued a directive to transfer the little girl to an advanced center abroad to diagnose her disease and provide her with treatment putting an end to the suffering of saeed al-shahrani whose only remaining daughter rawda is suffering from the same symptoms previously endured by her siblings.

the king assigned prince miteb bin abdullah minister of the national guard to follow up on rawda's treatment and progress.

prince miteb has ordered several authorities to help al-shahrani who arrived in riyadh with his wife complete procedures to transfer his daughter and her companion to the us for treatment.

'my children used to suffer from lethargy dizziness difficulty breathing and forgetfulness from as early as six months of age" said al-shahrani. 'the symptoms would continue to get worse until death."

'my first child was inflicted with the disease 15 years ago" he said. 'i had taken him to a hospital in asir at the time. they conducted tests and sent me home but his condition deteriorated and he died. my other four children later met the same fate."

'i had visited a specialist hospital military hospital and other major hospitals in the kingdom but no one was able to diagnose the case" he said.
