New Zealand wages expected to grow 20 pct

(MENAFN) Finance Minister of New Zealand said that his country's average annual wage is expected to grow by 20 percent from the 2012 level in 4 years, Xinhua reported. If the country achieves its economic growth by 2018, the average wage is expected to be about USD53,951 in four years, compared to USD44,843 in 2012 and USD47,446 in 2014. "So if you take that six-year period as a whole, the average wage will have gone up 10,500 NZ dollars (USD9,100), or around 20 percent, compared to inflation of around 12 percent over the same period," Finance Minister of New Zealand said. He added that everyone's situation is different and many families are still facing hard times, but the benefits of a consistent growing economy are "tangible and meaningful."
