Earnings of GCC firms hit USD59.2b


(MENAFN) A study of over a 650 firms across GCC conducted by Kuwaiti Financial Center (Markaz) showed that the total amount of Gulf firms' earnings hit USD59.2 billion last year, Times of Oman reported. The second half of 2013 showed a total of USD29.3 earnings alone, caused by strong performance from financial services, real estate, construction, telecommunications and conglomerates. Bahrain and Kuwait came first on the list of countries in terms of earnings growth, with an increase of 24 percent each, followed by UAE with earning growth of 15 percent. KSA and Qatar registered a growth of 6 percent and 3 percent, respectively. (Markaz) expects a massive earnings growth during this year, by a percentage of 12.
