S. Africa trade activity restrained

(MENAFN) South Africa's trade activity was still restrained last month despite registering positive results, Xinhua reported. The country's trade activity index (TAI) came at 54 in the month, unchanged from February but down 2 index points from the same month a year earlier. The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) said that the seasonally adjusted TAI dropped to 50 in March, down from 52 in the corresponding month in 2013. SACCI said that a slight improvement in the business climate helped keep trade positive despite tighter overall financial conditions.
