China Opposes Britain's Interference on Human Rights


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) ijing April 16 - China urged Britain to stop interfering in China's internal affairs on human rights issues. Britain recently released a human rights report on China making irresponsible comments about China's political system and blemishing China's human rights record Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said when asked to confirm reports that China canceled a human rights dialogue with Britain. "China expresses its strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to this" Hua said at a daily news briefing. Britain's acts do not help with dialogue and exchange with China on human rights Hua said. "We urge Britain to stop the wrong practice of taking human rights issues as a pretext for interfering in China's internal affairs and judicial sovereignty to create conditions for the next round of human rights dialogue" said Hua. She said China would like to hold human rights talks and cooperation with other countries including Britain on the basis of equality and mutual respect
