(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Jusoor, the NGO formed by Orpic, Vale and Sohar Aluminium, will fund establishment of the planned Drugs Rehabilitation Center in Sohar.
The centre will be an important milestone for Jusoor, which has already launched several healthcare projects.
H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Said bin Saif al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development, will on Thursday preside over the signing ceremony on funding the centre.
The centre will work as a link between services by the Ministry of Health and support provided by the private sector and social investors in treatment and rehab of drug addicts.
The centre will also lay emphasis on refining habits of addicts in an attempt to bring about positive changes in their lifestyles and lead a normal life post-recovery.
Sheikh Ali bin Saleh al Hashar, CEO of Jusoor said, ''This project is a result of constructive cooperation between the founding companies, the government and the private sector towards an integrated system of positive interactivity for sustainable growth of community.
''Representing its founding companies, Jusoor is very keen to do its best to materialise government's vision on working together for Oman's prosperity and progress. Warm thanks are extended to those who contributed - and those who will - in turning this vital project into reality in the near future.''
The centre is expected to play an important role in reducing health risks associated with drug addiction, prevent death from drug overdose and conducting awareness programmes.<
