EU To Train Mali Police Forces


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) xembourg April 15 - The European Union launched a mission Tuesday to train the Malian police forces in an effort to boost stability and democratic reforms while also granting a two-year extension to a military training operation already on the ground. The decision taken by EU defence ministers meeting in Luxembourg will establish a civilian mission to "deliver strategic advice and training for the three internal security forces in Mali" they said in a statement. This would help the Malian state to "ensure constitutional and democratic order and the conditions for lasting peace as well as to maintain its authority throughout the entire territory" the ministers added
