(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) ijing Apr 15 (ONA) - Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al-Busaidi the Secretary General of the Omani Foreign Ministry met here Tuesday with Wang Yi Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister within the framework of his current visit to the People's Republic of China to chair the Sultanate's delegation in the 8th round of the Joint Action Team for the Strategic Consultations between the two friendly countries. During the meeting the Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister expressed his confidence that the visit of the Sultanate's delegation to China would enhance the cooperation and partnership relations and deepening the mutual understanding to a number of issues of common concern stemming from the attention accorded by China to its positive relations with the Sultanate and all Arab and GCC countries. On his turn Sayyid Badr commended the level reached by the friendship and cooperation relations between the Sultanate and the People's Republic of China looking forward for further progress to these relations in various vital areas to serve the joint interests at the bilateral and regional arenas. The meeting touched on a number of cooperation areas of strategic importance particularly in the fields of energy and investment opportunities besides exchanging views on some regional and international issues of common concern. Sayyid Badr later met with Li Jinzao Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce. The two sides reviewed a number of ideas and opportunities that may enhance aspects of cooperation and partnership in the economic and investment fields between the two countries. During the meeting they highlighted the economic financial and world developments as well as the initiatives taken recently by the Chinese government to revive an economic belt in partnership with countries overlooking the land and marine ports of the Silk Road; the nautical passageway which connects China West Asia the Arabian Peninsula and Central Asia
