Asian stocks fluctuate ahead of Chinese growth data

Asian stocks fluctuated today between gains and losses as markets are preparing for GDP data of the second-largest economy in the world despite the absence of important data in today’s trading session.

On the other hand, data on rates of decline China’s liquidity coupled with low rates of credit in U.S. banks which is considered an indicator of weakness in Chinese growth; hence, the Chinese stocks declined based on the mentioned data.

The markets took advantage of this data to continue with the wave of profit taking that began last week, waiting for the outcome of the Chinese data.

- The MSCI Asia Pacific Index drop 0.1% to 137.25 at 2:19 in Hong Kong.

- Nikkei 225 ended 0.62% higher at 13996.81.           

- Topix closed 0.29% higher at 1136.09.

- Shanghai Composite closed 1.40% lower at 2101.60.

- Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 0.55% higher at 5388.16.

- New Zealand’s NZX 50 closed 0.25% higher at 5076.29.

- Kospi closed 0.24% lower at 1992.27.
