Google acquires Titan Aerospace


(MENAFN) Google announced its acquisition of drone maker Titan Aerospace, a bid that could push Google closer to its ambition of delivering internet services to underdeveloped areas across the globe, Xinhua reported



A Google spokesman said that the Titan's atmospheric satellite technology would be efficient in providing millions of people with internet access as well as solve other problems such as disaster relief and environmental damage



Titan's "atmospheric satellite" is an unmanned aerial vehicle capable of conducting most of the operations of an orbit satellite, but with lower launch costs, bigger launch window and easier retrieval for maintenance and upgrade



Titan said that its solar-powered atmospheric satellite can fly 20 kilometers above sea level for as long as five years without landing
