Ericsson showcases latest ICT technologies at comex 2014

(MENAFNEditorial) As a part of its participation at Comex 2014, Ericsson provides the event's visitors a sneak peek into the future and highlights a number of opportunities brought along with the formation of the Networked Society in Oman.

At the Ericsson stand, visitors start their journey with the Machine to Machine demo "The Driving Industry Transformation: M2M" takes the starting point from three of the main driving industry segments which are adopting M2M (Machine to Machine) solutions such as Automotive, Utilities & Energy and Transport. Following that, visitors will take a look at the "Connected Car", which fundamentally changes the way car drivers commute and perceive their time in the car through sensors and access to information in the cloud, and via the broadband network. Another interesting demo at the Ericsson stand is the "Connected Paper", where the body becomes the "wire" that transfers data into services in a smartphone. Finally visitors end their tour with the "Smart Metering" experience station which shows how a simple thing like a utility meter can work intelligently

Commenting on Ericsson's participation, Abdullah Albalushi, Ericsson's Oman President at Ericsson says: "Satisfying end-users' appetites for connectivity will play a significant role towards the advancement and development of the ICT industry in the Sultanate, while at the same time, it puts high expectations on operators to meet new demands. At Ericsson, we are keen to continue working closely with our key stakeholders in Oman to support our customers to satisfy the Omani consumers' needs and keep Oman at the forefront of mobile connectivity. We look forward to all of the productive and insightful discussions that will come from this year's event.

Comex 2014 is taking place from April 7th to April 11th 2014 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.
