Liverpool Edge Closer to First Premiership Title

Captain Steven Gerrard's team is enjoying top form having won ten consecutive matches. They beat rivals Manchester City 3-2 on Sunday to move seven points ahead and two points ahead of second-placed Chelsea who beat Swansea 1-0. The significance of beating their title rivals was evident as Gerrard fought back tears at the final whistle. As the Reds captain addressed his team-mates in an emotional huddle he implored them to reproduce this display against Norwich next week. Gerrard believes next month could be the "biggest of his career" as he bids to help Liverpool secure a first ever Premier League title. He has pledged to give it his all in the final four games of the season as he attempts to finally win the Premier League crown for the club he joined aged seven. "I think that's the best we've played all season" Gerrard told the club's official website. "I'm enjoying it it's great to play with so many top players. The journey I've had all the way through the years there have been ups and downs. At the moment I'm loving every minute of it. "I feel 21 again playing with all these top players. It's probably going to be the biggest month of my career coming up now. I'll give it everything I've got." Liverpool is one of the most successful clubs in England and has won more European trophies than any other English team with five European Cups three UEFA Cups and three UEFA Super Cups.
