China's auto exports to South America up 18.9 percent in 2013


(MENAFN) China has recently become the largest exporter of South America's auto units on the growing auto demand in the last few years, according to Qatar News Agency



Shi Jianhua, vice secretary-general of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said that South America imported 286.500 automobile units from China in 2013, or 18.9 percent higher than a year earlier.



Exports to the region accounted for about 30% of China's total auto exports last year



Jianhua said: "Auto ownership in South America is much lower than in developed countries, and the potential for Chinese auto makers to develop on the continent is great.
