(MENAFN) Due to a massive growth in manufacturing and construction sectors, Singapore's economy expanded by 5.1 percent at the beginning of 2014, as reported by Xinhua
Annual growth rate in the last quarter of 2013 was lower than the 5.5 percent expansion, while statistics show an economic growth by only 0.1 percent compared to the same the previous quarter.
The manufacturing sector showed an annual increase of 8 percent in the first quarter this year, faster by 1 percent from the quarter before it.
As for the construction sector, it grew by 6.5 percent in the first quarter of 2014, jumping 10.7 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2013
