Abu Dhabi Free Port Receives Largest Cargo Load Ever


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) u Dhabi April 14 - Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) received its largest and longest heavy lift cargo load it has ever handled in the Free Port next to Zayed Port in Abu Dhabi a WAM news agency report said Monday. The Free Port unloaded five heavy lift pieces of infrastructure equipment for Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (Takreer). The equipment arrived here for the new carbon black and delayed coker plant under construction at the chemical refining complex in Ruwais Abu Dhabi. The equipment arrived on a heavy project cargo carrier from Ulsan Korea. The heavy lift carrier occupied three berths at the Freeport. The MV Dongbang Giant No.1 carried five different pieces of infrastructure which had an overall combined weight of 3367 metric tonnes and 29492 cubic meters in volume (freight tonnage). SPMT trailers up to 76 axles helped unload the heavy lift pieces weighing between 140 and 1531 metric tonnes on to the quayside by roll off operation. ADPC manages and operates the Free Port which is close to the main Zayed Port in the city WAM added
