(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) A joint inspection team led by the Directorate General of Manpower in Dakhliyah governorate recently arrested 40 Labour Law violators from the wilayat of Adam.

Those arrested include 15 retrenched labourers, seven absconding workers, eight workers who did not have valid documents and ten for other violations.

According to a press release, some of these workers were found employed in jobs reserved for Omani nationals.

Some workers were also found violating provisions of the Residency Law.'

Nasir al Falahi, director of joint inspection team, Directorate General of Manpower in Dakhliyah was quoted in the release as saying, ''The directorate is making efforts to regulate the job market.''


4,170 packs of banned cigarettes, 338packets of tobacco seized

The Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations in the governorate of Dhahirah, in a raid on an Ibri farm, arrested an Asian national with a large cache of prohibited smoking and chewing tobacco.

The team carrying out the raid seized 4,170 packs of cigarettes and 338 bags of chewing tobacco. The man has admitted to selling them to compatriots.


Training courses conclude

Two training courses were recently held at the Officers' Training Institute.

The first course titled, Preparing Field Leaders for Emergency Situations (second group) was held for a week.

The second course, Combating Corruption' was held for four weeks and was supervised by officials of UK's College of Polic
