(MENAFN - Arab Times) MPs Riyadh Al-Adsani, Abdulkareem Al-Kandari and Hussain Al-Queaan have announced their intention to submit an interpellation request against HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al- Mubarak based on the statement made by MP Abdullah Al-Tamimi in a recent television interview that he received money from the premier.

Al-Tamimi has been quoted as saying the money was a donation to support Shiite social services and it was given to him as he had been tasked to oversee the distribution. According to Al-Adsani, this is not the first incident because it already happened before. The interpellation point has prompted Al-Queaan to join his two colleagues in submitting the request. He considers the action of the prime minister as negligent and hypocritical, so he decided to meet with Al-Adsani and Al-Kandari to discuss the interpellation. He said they will submit the interpellation request by the beginning of next week. Upon learning about the plan of his colleagues to submit an interpellation request against the premier, MP Faisal Al-Kandari urged all MPs contemplating on taking a similar step to keep calm and conduct a thorough investigation first rather than jumping straight into the interpellation wagon. While advising the other MPs to focus on the development of the country instead of nitpicking on issues, Al- Kandari affirmed any MP has the right to submit an interpellation request and this right must be respected. Furthermore, MP Faisal Al-Duweisaan expressed disappointment over the grilling point, indicating any donation for social services is welcomed but there is no need for a middle man. He argued Al- Tamimi disclosed the matter with good intentions, yet some MPs have misinterpreted the gesture and they intend to make something out of nothing. He warned this will only instigate tension between the two authorities.

On the other hand, MP Khaleel Abdullah said Al-Tamimi's admission that he received money directly from the premier was a good step. He also stressed the importance of not mixing religion with politics as such a move may raise suspicions. He thinks the submission of a grilling motion is a step in the right direction as the issue at hand is very suspicious and necessitates clarification which can be achieved only through interpellation.

Commenting on the issue, Al-Tamimi clarified that he did not personally receive the money, because his role was limited to supervising donations to assure they reach the rightful recipients. He added the money did not come from the premier only, since there were other donors like sheikhs and traders keen on giving back to society.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly Office is looking into the possibility of including MP Safa Al-Hashem's request to refer parliamentary queries rejected by the government on grounds of unconstitutionality to the constitutional experts, in the agenda for this week's legislative session. She pointed out the significance of her request, because the ministers usually use unconstitutionality as an excuse not to respond to the queries of lawmakers. Moreover, the MP previously disclosed her plan to submit an interpellation request against Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs Dr Naif Al-Ajmi despite the government's renewal of confidence on the minister and rejection of his resignation. She affirmed the interpellation has three points and the number may increase if any relevant issue surfaces prior to submission
