(MENAFN - Arab News) The khak-e-taiba trust (ktt) jeddah chapter jointly organized an event with the twin city youth welfare association to bid farewell to the indian consul general faiz ahmed kidwai at a local restaurant in jeddah on saturday
Representatives of the ktt spoke highly of faiz kidwai's contribution to the indo- saudi relations and his devotion to the indian community in the kingdom
Several ktt members and eminent dignitaries attended the event. the welcome address was given by ktt president ahmed abdul hakeem and vice president mohammed abbas khan.
Ktt trustee aijaz ahmed khan lauded kidwai's efforts in bringing together the cultural and professional community and most importantly managing the numerous problems faced by indian expats especially during the grace period by the custodian of the two holy mosques king abdullah for rectification of the status of illegal foreigners in the kingdom.
'kidwai did his best to project a positive image of the indian community in the kingdom on different occasions like an asian film festival indian food festival or any other event. the members of ktt would like to take this opportunity to appreciate his work and wish kidwai good luck in the future" khan said
Aleem khan falaki chief adviser of ktt praised kidwai's contribution saying 'it is truly inspiring to see an honest and humble person in this era. his enthusiasm to assist and unfaltering determination to resolve the indian community's problems captured the attention of all residing in jeddah.
During the event azmat ali imran general secretary of ktt's youth wing presented a documentary featuring the remarkable journey of faiz kidwai detailing his willingness to help fellow indians in distress regardless of caste creed and language his efforts to reach out to the umrah pilgrims in ramadan and also to ensure that pilgrims perform their haj rituals easily and comfortably his participation and contribution to boost the indian community through cultural and traditional programs and several other activities that represent indian ethnicity. syed khaja viquaruddin general secretary of ktt and the anchor punctuated the event with the achievements of the consul general.
Faiz ahmed kidwai appreciated the efforts of ktt to organize the gathering in his honor and said 'ktt has played a major role in uniting the indian community and supported it during times of crises especially when the consulate needed help most."
He noted the remarkable contributions of syed khaja viqaruddin for helping achieve the release of indian prisoners and imran kausar director of ktt for constantly assisting stranded indians during the amnesty period by providing food packets
'i hope that ktt continues this commendable work and achieves huge success in the future" kidwai said.
