First Coronavirus Case Detected in Yemen


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) na'a April 13 - The Yemeni Ministry of Health has announced the first case of the MERS coronavirus in the capital Sana'a . Yemeni Health Minister Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansi said in a statement today that "the ministry has allocated a central operations room to face the coronavirus that threatens the entire region including Yemen ." He disclosed that the medical devices recorded one case infected with coronavirus in Sana'a in a young Yemeni youth working as a flight engineer. Dr. Al Ansi added that the ministry is currently working effectively in coordination with the World Health Organization in the face of this virus in addition to the direct and continuous communication with all hospitals to receive notification about any suspected case ." The World Health Organization classifies the coronavirus as a mysterious virus which effect is confined to the respiratory system and lead to kidney failure
