Iran transits 12 m tons of goods in 12 months


(MENAFN) Iran transactions of goods reached over 12 million tons in the last Iranian year ended on March 20, 2014, registering a 4 percent rise year-on-year, according to Tehran Times



Goods transited by roads totaled 96 percent of all goods, or 8 percent higher than the same period a year earlier



Iran's earnings from transited goods via ports reach USD560 million worth annually.



Iranian Transport and Urban Development Minister Abbas Akhoundi said that Iran plans to quadruple transit of goods to as much as 50 million tons per year
